Director Darryl Yap Calls Out Doctor for ‘Disrespecting’ His Mother in Olongapo
DARRY YAP0 – Filmmaker Darryl Yap took to social media to express his outrage after his mother was allegedly disrespected by a doctor at a clinic in Olongapo City.
Darryl Yap voiced his disappointment after his mother reportedly experienced disrespect from a doctor at a clinic in Olongapo City, Zambales. The director shared his concerns publicly on his Facebook page on July 3, highlighting the incident and seeking advice for his mother’s next appointment.
Yap recounted that his mother was looked down upon by the doctor at Medical City SM Olongapo Central simply because she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt during her visit.

Darryl Yap mentioned, “Kasi binastos siya ng Doktor sa Medical City SM Olongapo Central dahil naka-shorts at t-shirt lang siya; eh babalik ulit siya bukas, para sana sweet na yung doktor sa kanya,” He humorously asked his followers for suggestions on where his mom could rent an evening gown to avoid similar treatment in the future.
The director also called out local officials, including Olongapo City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr. and Zambales First District Congressman Jay Khonghun, hoping to bring attention to the issue. His posts sparked conversations in the comments, where an anonymous source confirmed that Yap’s mother had indeed waited for about an hour before seeing the doctor. The same source mentioned that several other patients have expressed dissatisfaction with the doctor’s attitude, yet their complaints have so far gone unaddressed.

Taking action, Yap said he reached out to the clinic’s manager, who assured him that a meeting would be arranged between his mother and the doctor to discuss the matter and hopefully resolve the conflict.
This incident highlights concerns about patient treatment and respect within healthcare settings, emphasizing the need for professionalism and empathy from medical practitioners toward all patients regardless of their attire or background
