Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Message for Filipinos on 127th Independence Day Anniversary Celebration
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President gave a message for the Filipino people on the 127th anniversary celebration of the Independence Day.
The Philippine Holidays 2025 include several regular holidays which are mostly constant in the calendar. One of them is the Independence Day celebration which is held every 12th of June. Its anniversary celebration is a commemoration of the first raising of the flag in Kawit, Cavite after the country won its freedom from the foreign invaders.
Every Independence Day celebration, with classes and work in both public and private establishments cancelled, several programs in line with the anniversary celebration are held. The Filipino people have a chance to join in these events with the day being a regular holiday. Usually, the president and the vice president also issue messages for the Filipinos.
In his Independence Day message for the Filipinos as the country celebrates the 127th anniversary of the historic event, Pres. Bongbong Marcos recalled that “today, we celebrate one of the proudest milestones of our history — the moment our flag was first unfurled in the sky on that eventful day of 1898 in Kawit, Cavite”.
The President also noted that the path towards the celebration of the Philippine independence was “long, arduous, and costly”. He stressed that it required the sacrifice of selfless people and their heroism has given birth to the rights and privileges that we enjoy now.
“We now enjoy the rights and privileges reserved for those who have a country they can call their own,” he stated.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos also cited that the heroism of our ancestors who fought for the country’s freedom has inspired generations to offer themselves to the causes that are beneficial to the welfare of the society and the humanity.
“That is why we must value our heritage by striving for excellence in preserving our rights and freedoms ensuring that they are used solely for the improvement and protection of our citizenry. So, let use continue to bear the vigor of our ancestors as we defend our nation against those who seek to diminish the strength of our people,” he stated.
Furthermore, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, in his message for the Filipinos in the 127th anniversary celebration of the Independence Day, called on the people to honor the priceless freedom won by the heroes by building a country that is worthy of their sacrifice.
“May you endeavor to enhance your abilities and character to give more to our nation. Through our collective efforts, we will forge the path of progress, stability, and prosperity for our present and future generations. The President finished his message for the Filipinos for the 127th Independence Day celebration with his administration’s slogan — “Mabuhay ang malayang Pilipino! Mabuhay ang Bagong Pilipinas!”.
However, previously, the said “Bagong Pilipinas” slogan of the Marcos administration was slammed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. It is no secret to the Filipino people that the relationship between the two (2) high officials in the government has turned sour.
