Sam Verzosa Graciously Concedes Defeat to Isko Moreno
SAM VERZOSA – Businessman Sam Verzosa graciously accepted his defeat to Isko Moreno in the 2025 Manila mayoral race, expressing gratitude for the support he received throughout the campaign.
In a heartfelt message on social media, businessman and former congressional representative Sam Verzosa formally accepted his defeat to former mayor Isko Moreno in the 2025 mayoral race in Manila. Despite the unexpected outcome, he humbly expressed his deep gratitude to the Manileños who supported his campaign.
“Ngayong gabi, buong puso kong tinatanggap ang desisyon ng taumbayan,” Verzosa wrote, describing the campaign as an intense challenge, especially as a newcomer to the city’s political arena. Nevertheless, he said he drew inspiration from every handshake, every embrace, and every pat on the back he received from the public.

“Hindi po biro ang laban na ating hinarap,” he added, emphasizing that their campaign was not only about winning but about giving a voice to those who had long been unheard. According to Verzosa, their goal was to elevate public discourse and bring attention to issues that had been neglected for far too long.
He sincerely congratulated Isko Moreno and conveyed his hope for the city’s success under new leadership. “Nais ko pong batiin ang nanalong kandidato. Hiling ko na ang kanyang tagumpay ay tagumpay rin ng buong lungsod,” he said. Verzosa expressed his wish that Moreno’s victory would also be a victory for the entire city.

Though he did not win, Verzosa assured the public that his service does not end here. He pledged to continue advocating for better healthcare, education, livelihood, and good governance. “Magpapatuloy po ako sa pagseserbisyo sa ating bayan sa abot ng aking makakaya,” he stated.
He concluded his message by once again thanking the people of Manila: “Maraming Salamat, Maynila. Mahal ko po kayo. Mabuhay ang ating lungsod. Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino.”
