In a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 21, the actor-turned-senator uploaded several photos of himself having breakfast in The Hague, Netherlands. Beside him sat the cardboard figure of Duterte, seemingly taking part in their “meeting.”
“Good vibes lang. Breakfast meeting kasama ang chairman ng Partido demokratiko ng Pilipinas,” Padilla joked in his caption. The post quickly caught the attention of netizens. Many found the senator’s satirical post humorous, while others expressed admiration for his unwavering support for Duterte.
It’s worth noting that former President Rodrigo Duterte is currently detained at the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague. He faces charges of crimes against humanity over the alleged extrajudicial killings during his bloody war on drugs while in office. Duterte was arrested in the Philippines on March 11, based on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Although only a cardboard figure was by his side, Padilla clearly aimed to show his continued loyalty to the former president.
