Justice Secretary Remulla Open to New Role Amid Cabinet Shake-up
REMULLA – Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla expressed full support for President Marcos’ Cabinet revamp, saying he is open to any new role assigned to him.
Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla expressed his openness to a potential reassignment within the Marcos administration as part of the ongoing Cabinet overhaul. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Remulla confirmed he had submitted his courtesy resignation, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s move to recalibrate his Cabinet at the midpoint of his term.
“That’s normal. This is to give him a free hand,” Remulla said, noting that the President’s decision to reassess key government posts is aimed at ensuring a more performance-driven leadership moving forward.

When asked whether he is ready to take on a new role if asked by the President, Remulla responded positively. “I’m a soldier. I serve the President. I’m at his beck and call and I serve at his pleasure. So I’m OK with it,” he stated.
Remulla emphasized that the Cabinet revamp is a welcome development, believing that President Marcos must be able to choose “the best people he trusts” to help run the government effectively. He underscored the importance of surrounding the President with capable and trusted individuals as the administration gears up for the second half of its term.
The Cabinet reshuffle was further highlighted during a Friday night interview on One News’ “The Big Story,” where Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro announced that more updates on the revamp can be expected by Wednesday. This signals that further changes and announcements are imminent as the administration intensifies its efforts to boost performance and governance.

Meanwhile, outgoing Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has formally bid farewell to his colleagues. In his parting message, Acuzar thanked President Marcos for the trust and the opportunity to lead the DHSUD for the past two years.
According to the report, the evolving Cabinet lineup is being closely watched as the administration seeks to enhance its effectiveness during the remaining years of Marcos’ presidency.
