Manila Mayor-Elect Isko Moreno Speaks on Outgoing Administration Following his Election Win
ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor-elect spoke on the results of the 2025 Elections in Manila claiming it meant a total rejection of the outgoing administration.
Several politicans who were not in politics in the last three (3) years ran for a position in the government again in the 2025 Midterm Elections. Moreno, an actor-turned-Manila mayor, vied to regain the helm of the capital city.

Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was one of those who challenged the reelection of incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan. She was his vice mayor from 2019 to 2022 before he ran for president in the country. Moreno maintained his lead from the start of the election votes counting.

Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s votes created a huge gap from his contenders that Sam Versoza conceded but graciously accepted his defeat. The actor-turned-politican got 530,825 votes or 59.02 percent of the total votes in Manila while the incumbent mayor, Honey Lacuna-Pangan, only got 190,617 votes or 21.19 percent of the total votes.

Based on a report on PhilStar, most of the 36 seats for elected councilors in Manila city council were also won by the bets of Yorme’s Choice, the party of Manila Mayor-Elect Isko Moreno who previously vowed to clean the city again. According to the actor-turned-politican, the results of the election allegedly showed a “total rejection” of the outgoing admin.
“The election result in the city of Manila was the total rejection of that group of people (outgoing administration) – they have no place in their hearts. Ineffective, chaotic, there’s no government and so on and so forth,” he said.
Based on the report, Manila Mayor-elect Isko Moreno was asked to rate his predecessor between “pass or fail”. According to him, “fail” is probably the answer of the people in Manila. He stressed that their votes allegedly showed their refusal of the mandate.
“With that kind of vote, that’s really a total rejection, that kind of lead and mandate,” Moreno said.
Following a landslide victory in Manila, Moreno said he would “have to answere to the people of Manila”. He stressed that he will focus on creating a 10-year program for the capital city.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte backed the mayoralty bid of Isko Moreno, the contender of her former running mate, now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She even joined his campaign rallies.
