There were also party-list groups that were named after government programs like the 4PS. Recently, COMELEC announced its decision regarding the party-list groups that were named after TV shows and government programs. Based on a report on GMA News, the poll body has decided to ban party-list group names that are after telenovelas and government programs in the next accreditation.

Based on the report, Garcia stressed that the names of their party-list group must reflect the advocacy of their group. The COMELEC chairman said that party-list groups bearing the names inspired by TV shows and government programs must change their names if they want to be accredited.

“Sa mga susunod we will no longer allow. If they want accreditation, change the names of their party in accordance with their principles, kung ano ang kanilang plataporma,” he expressed.
