Carol Banawa: “It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me.”
CAROL BANAWA – The Filipina singer has successfully earned her master’s degree in nursing in the United States.
The singer shared the good news to the public on her Instagram account, saying that she received her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. She even looked backed on her nursing journey – from being a Certified Nurse Aide to being a master’s degree holder.
“It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me,” Carol said in her Instagram post.

In her social media post, the singer of “Tanging Yaman” shared that she began her career in medicine in Arizona in 2005 as a Certified Nurse Aide. She obtained her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2010. Carol then pursued her nursing career in Virginia, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2018 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020.
The singer said that when she started her master’s degree, the world was shutting down because the COVID-19 pandemic had just started and she was expecting her daughter Bella at that time. She added that it was “far from easy” to juggle school pregnancy, and parenthood during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She then shared that she had to deal with restless nights, missed events, lengthy study sessions, exhaustion, and times when she doubted herself and wondered if she could keep going. But she said that because her dream was “stronger”, she made the decision to keep going.

Carol went on to express her gratitude to her support system – her husband Ryan; their children Chelsea, River, and Bella; her mom Celine; her Ate Cherry; her friends; and God – who helped her achieve her dreams.
She ended her social media post by sharing some words to ponder.
“To anyone who is on a long, hard road—keep going. One step at a time. Dreams take time, sacrifice, and faith. But they are worth it. To God be the Glory!” the singer said.
