Bongbong Marcos on Calls To Resign: “Wala sa ugali ko ‘yung tinatakbuhan ang problema”

Pres. Bongbong Marcos Responds To Resignation Calls Following Admin Revamp

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Chief Executive junked the calls for him to resign following the revamp of his administration.

The Filipino people were shocked when Pres. Marcos called on his Cabinet secretaries to tender their courtesy resignation. He wanted a recalibration of the administration after the results of the 2025 Elections wherein not all the senatorial bets of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago secured Senate seats.

Amid the order for his Cabinet secretaries to resign, several people called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign. Former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea, the E.S. of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, said Marcos Jr. should be the one to leave his post.

Duterte’s former presidential spokesman Harry Roque claimed that Marcos Jr. himself is allegedly the root of the problem and not his cabinet officials. He doubled the call for the resignation of the Chief Executive who is heavily-blamed over the arrest of his former boss, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Duterte was arrested by the Philippine authorities last March 11. On the same day of his arrest, he was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai. He is currently detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) where he is facing an accusation of crimes against humanity over the war on drugs of his administration.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos reacted to the calls for him to resign. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he asked why he should do it citing that it is not his nature to run away from problems. He also raised a question on the benefits that leaving his post can do.

“Ba’t ko gagawin ‘yun? At wala sa ugali ko ‘yung tinatakbuhan ang problema. So, what good will that do?” the President said.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos shared that when they were doing the performance review, when he sees shortcomings on the government officials, he does not just take it as it is but, instead, check on the root of it.

“We are looking at the problem deeply. You know, siguro by now, you know, I don’t do things pang optics. If there is a problem, I like to fix it. So, that’s what we are doing. So, expect us to be doing a rigorous performance review, not only at the Cabinet level, but even deeper,” he expressed.

Recently, Pulse Asia survey results showed that the trust ratings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos increased while Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s declined.
