Pres. Bongbong Marcos Calls for Courtesy Resignation of Cabinet Secretaries
BONGBONG MARCOS – Malacañang claimed that the President will act swiftly on the courtesy resignations of his Cabinet secretaries.
Following the realizations of Pres. Marcos from the results of the 2025 Elections wherein the Chief Executive admitted that the Filipinos are possibly tired of politicking and are disappointed by the services of the government, Marcos Jr. called for a courtesy resignations of his Cabinet secretaries.

Pres. Marcos wants a to recalibrate his administration. According to the President, the Filipino people have spoken and the government must align itself to what the people are expecting. There is now a long list of Marcos Cabinet secretaries who have tendered their courtesy resignations under the order of the President.

Amid the Cabinet secretaries resigning from their positions, Malacañang assured that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will act fast on the courtesy resignations. Based on a report on GMA News, Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro said that while she cannot give a specific timeline, she is sure that Marcos Jr. will decide on the matter swiftly.

“Hindi ko masasabi yung timeline pero ang sabi nga ng Pangulo gusto niya mabilis. So, dapat mabilisan din ito. Makakaasa sila na mas mabilis ang pagde-decide patungkol dito,” the Palace official said.
Castro also previously assured the Filipino people that the services of the different government offices will not be affected by the recalibration of the Marcos Cabinet. Based on the report, the press officer of Malacañang revealed that “performance” and the “absence of corruption” are the basis of the President in determining who will stay in his Cabinet.
“Ayaw ng mabagal ng Pangulo. Yan ang nireklamo niya, ayaw niya maging mabagal ang trabaho ng administration. At the same time, may mga issues ng korapsyon. So isa yan… So performance, saka dapat maging malinis ang trabaho ng mga Gabinete, dapat walang korap,” the Palace official said.
Countless people were surprised by the order of Pres. Marcos for courtesy resignations among his Cabinet secretaries. Meanwhile, several Cabinet secretaries of the Marcos administration immediately followed the order and tendered their courtesy resignations.
Department of Education chief Sonny Angara is one of the Cabinet secretaries who have already resigned from his post. According to Angara who is one of those with the shortest stint in his position, he is thankful to the President for the opportunity and he trusts the decision of Marcos Jr.
Previously, Malacañang said the resignation call of Marcos Jr. is a chance for the Cabinet secretaries to prove their place in his administration.
