Negros Oriental Cong. Arnie Teves Now Back in PH from Timor-Leste
ARNIE TEVES – The former Negros Oriental Congressman asked the authorities not to handcuff him amid his deportation to the Philippines.
Teves is faced with multiple charges in the Philippines including the accusation that he is allegedly the mastermind of the slay of former Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. He was shot at his residence in Pamplona last March 4, 2023.

Aside from Degamo, nine (9) other people were left dead by the attack launched by men who barged in the house of the Governor. Several others were left injured. Degamo was rushed to the hospital but he did not make it.

Former Negros Oriental Cong. Teves was tagged as the alleged principal suspect in the killing of former Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo. However, he was already in abroad when the accusations were up. He was in Timor-Leste for more than a year already.

Recently, former Negros Oriental Cong. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves was arrested in Timor-Leste according to his son, Axl. He was nabbed by the immigration officers at his residence in Dili. According to Axl, the arresters of his father allegedly had no documents and warrant of arrest.
Following the arrest, Arnie Teves was ordered deported by the Timor-Leste government. He boarded a Philippine Air Force plane yesterday en-route to the Philippines. Based on a post of Bombo Radyo Philippines on social media, the former Negros Oriental Congressman refused to be handcuffed citing that it is painful.
However, the authorities insisted that they have to implement the Standard Operating Procedure or SOP. The former Negros Oriental Congressman was handcuffed despite his assurance that he won’t escape.
“Kahit sa kamay huwag na Sir… Sakit… Masakit. Huwag niyo na akong lagyan. Pakiusap lang, huwag na,” he said based on the post.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos issued a statement on the deportation of Arnie Teves from Timor-Leste to the Philippines after years of evading arrest.
