Marjorie Barretto Sets the Record Straight: Gene Padilla Was Not on the Guest List for Her Daughter’s Wedding
MARJORIE BARRETTO – Celebrity mom Marjorie Barretto set the record straight by confirming that Gene Padilla was not on the guest list for her daughter’s wedding.
In the second part of her interview with Ogie Diaz, actress and former politician Marjorie Barretto clarified the issue regarding Gene Padilla’s presence at her daughter Claudia Barretto’s wedding.
According to Marjorie, Gene—who is the brother of Dennis Padilla—was not invited to the wedding. This was in response to Gene’s Facebook post where he shared his version of what transpired during the event. In the post, he mentioned waking up early and traveling all the way from Bulacan to Alabang just to attend the ceremony.
However, Marjorie firmly stated, “Wala namang nagsabing gawin mo ‘yon,” adding that only their mother and Dennis were officially invited. She also expressed disapproval over Gene’s behavior at the wedding, especially during the tense moments involving Dennis.
“Gene, imbes na pinahinahon mo ‘yung kapatid mo, inano pa niya eh, finuel niya eh,” Marjorie said. She shared that instead of helping Dennis compose himself, Gene seemingly provoked him further by complaining that Dennis, as the father of the bride, had no role in the ceremony.
Marjorie further explained that Gene appeared to escalate the tension instead of helping to ease it. He was supposedly more emotionally charged. According to my nieces and nephews, he was saying, “’Si kuya walang role, walang ganyan!’ ‘Yung, ina-agitate mo pa,” she recounted.
Ultimately, Marjorie emphasized that Gene should not have been surprised by what happened, as he was not among the official guests. His presence and actions, she said, may have only worsened the situation during her daughter’s wedding.
Marjorie’s side of the story reflects her desire to clarify the accusations being thrown at her and to protect her family’s peace amid the controversy.
