Malacañang Says Bongbong Marcos Not Bothered by Rating in Surveys

Statement of Malacañang on Decline of Rating of Pres. Bongbong Marcos in Surveys

MALACAÑANG – Palace Press Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro spoke on the rating of President Bongbong Marcos in surveys.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos earned a lot of criticisms from the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He was accused of betraying not only the Dutertes but the Filipino people and the sovereignty of the country. The former President was arrested last March 11 and his custody was transferred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Amid the issues and criticisms, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was defended by Malacañang from the betrayal accusations. According to the Palace, the Philippine government only acted on its job and its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Amid the issues, Marcos said in a speech to the Philippine Army that they strive for a government that acts with integrity.

Amid the Philippine government experiencing political turmoil due to the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the results of the trust and performance survey on Pres. Bongbong Marcos declined. Meanwhile, Malacañang stressed that the Chief Executive is not bothered by it.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro claimed that Marcos Jr. is not affected by the rating as he continues with his job. She stressed that the President will not be stopped by any survey from doing his work.

“Hindi po nabahala ang Pangulo sa anumang rating sa survey. Ang Pangulo kahit anuman ang rating, mataas, mababa, magpapatuloy sya sa kanyang trabaho, hindi sya mapapahinto ng anumang survey. Basta ang gagawin ng Pangulo ay gumawa ng naaayon sa batas at gumawa ng tama,” Castro said.

Based on the report, the press officer of Malacañang also claimed that the recent Pulse Asia survey where the trust rating of Marcos Jr. declined by 17% from February to March only had 2400 respondents. She stressed that their opinions do not reflect the sentiments of more than 100 million Filipinos.

The Press Officer of the Palace also blamed “fake news” on the decline of the trust rating of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to her, the opinions of the respondents may be due to fake news. She also raised a question if the help of the government does not reach the respondents.

Recently, Malacañang also reacted to the “ITIM” campaign ad of Senator Imee Marcos with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. In the said ad, the Vice President claimed that black is the current color of the country due to hunger and criminality.
