Reportedly, later on, Atty. Sia clarified that it was only a joke as he is married. However, while his statement sparked laughter at the campaign sortie, it did not sit well with countless netizens on social media. Many members of the online community called the attention of the Commission on Elections.

The COMELEC issued a Show Cause Order to Sia for his “joke”. The Pasig candidate believes that his joke is within his freedom of speech. Previously, he apologized to everyone offended by his joke. According to him, it was meant to get the attention of the audience at the campaign event.
