Following his claim, Malacañang called on Harry Roque to defend himself first before others. The Palace also urged the people to challenge the former presidential spokesman to return to the country and face the accusations against him.

However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that Roque is excluded from the ICC legal team of the former President. According to her, he must focus on his bid for asylum in the Netherlands and they want the lawyers that will compose the ICC legal team of her father to really be focusing in his case.

Harry Roque previously confirmed his application for asylum in the Netherlands. According to him, the process may take around a year and a half and he allegedly cannot be deported to the Philippines during the application process.

The former presidential spokesman stressed that he no longer has to hide. It was his first time in six months to freely appear in public without hiding after six (6) months of being away from the public’s eye.

However, recently, there are claims that Harry Roque’s bid for asylum in the Netherlands was allegedly rejected. Through social media posts, the former presidential spox debunked the claims about his application for asylum.

Roque tagged the claims as “fake news”. According to him, there are people who are eager to see him behind the bars. He stressed that it will not happen.

“May fake news na kumakalat diyan na diumano binasura raw ‘yung aking asylum. How they wish kasi alam ko gustong-gusto nila na mga bangag incorporated na makita ako na humahalik sa rehas para sa krimen na hindi ko naman ginawa. Well, sorry na lang kayo hindi po ‘yan mangyayari,” Roque said.

Through a recent post, Harry Roque also claimed that they are eager to file a case against him that does not allow the posting of bail like what allegedly happened to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“Kahit ano pong mangyari, papatunayan ko po, kahit ano pong kaso isasampa sa Pilipinas ‘yan po ay panunupil ng karapatan ko lalong-lalo na ng karapatan ng malayang pananalita,” the former presidential spox said.

Recently, Malacañang reiterated its call for Harry Roque to go home to the Philippines. The statement of the Palace came after he called Pres. Bongbong Marcos “bangag”.
