Following Controversial Arrest of FPRRD, VP Sara Duterte Advise Filipinos To Move On “As A Country”
VP Sara Duterte advised the Filipinos to move on from what happened saying that former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is now detained in the Hague, Netherlands couldn’t be brought home to the Philippines.
The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 11 over an alleged arrest warrant released by the International Criminal Court (ICC) left the Duterte supporters calling for him to be returned to the country. He is currently detained in the hospital facility of an ICC detention facility in the Hague.

According to VP Sara, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is “charming everyone inside” the detention facility with his friendly nature. The Vice President who is the only family member of FPRRD who was able to personally talk to him since his arrest said the former President has likened his detention place into a hotel.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants her to immediately return to the Philippines. According to her, she is the only one in their family with a Schengen Visa and everyone is still applying for the travel document. She stressed that she will just talk to the legal team of the former President and head home to the country as he has requested.

VP Sara Duterte previously clarified that Harry Roque and Salvador Medialdea won’t be part of Duterte’s ICC legal team. Her pronouncement was contrary to what Roque earlier said. The former presidential spokesman previously claimed he will seek asylum at the Netherlands to defend Duterte.
Last March 15, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte made his first appearance remotely before the pre-trial chamber of the ICC. He was represented by Medialdea while he stayed at the detention area and was sent a video link.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, the legal team of her father on his ICC battle will be composed of all foreign lawyers to be led by Nicholas Kaufman. The British-Israeli lawyer is confident that they will win the case.

Amid the countless calls of the Duterte supporters for the return of the former President, VP Sara Duterte bared her advice to move on from what happened. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President explained that it will be pointless to be harboring hatred over the arrest of the former President.
“Sa totoo lang wala talaga akong nararamdaman. Hindi ako galit, hindi ako disappointed. Nothing at all. Kasi pointless naman na mag-harbor ako ng feelings about what happened,” the Vice President expressed.
VP Sara Duterte further stressed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte allegedly could not be brought home to the Philippines. Based on the report, she believes that the best thing to do is to move on as a country.
“Hindi na mababalik si Pangulong Duterte sa Pilipinas. So what we should do as a country is move on from what happened. What will we do as our ways forward as a country and as a people from what happened,” Duterte said.
According to the Vice President, even if the people will get mad over the arrest of former Pres. Duterte, it will go nowhere as the government will allegedly not hold the ones behind it accountable for what happened. Amid the issue, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero said that the impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will continue despite FPRRD’s arrest.
