RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President spoke on the rumors that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has released an arrest warrant against him.

The war on drugs of the Duterte administration remains controversial and investigation of the staunch campaign of the previous admin continues. The International Criminal Court or ICC is one of the entities known to have launched a probe on the anti-drugs campaign of the previous admin.

Previously, during his appearance at the House of Representatives Quad Committee hearing, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte dared the ICC to come to the Philippines and start investigating him. According to the former Chief Executive, he is not satisfied with the capabilities of the white races in the probe.

The war on drugs of the previous administration is linked to thousands of deaths. The Duterte government worked hand in hand with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in pushing for the fight against the illegal substance. The former President was vocal that he’s doing it for the people.

Then, the PNP was led by now Senator Bato dela Rosa who said that he’s not afraid of the ICC. During the House Quad Comm hearing, Duterte asked the lawmakers to spare the policemen involved in the drug war saying that they were only following orders from him.

Recently, there were rumors that the International Criminal Court has allegedly released a warrant of arrest against former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News, the ICC arrest warrant rumors has reached the former President who spoke about it.

According to the former President, the ICC was after him for a long time already. He stressed that whatever he has done as the president of the country was in the pursuit of peace and order in the country.

“Ano man ang kasalanan ko, ginawa ko ‘yun para magkaroon ng konting katahimikan at mapayapa ang buhay ng Pilipino,” Duterte said.

Based on the report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte even raised an assumption that the accusations against him are true. He stressed that he did it for the Filipinos, the youth, and the country.

“Assuming na totoo talaga yung nairiring niyong ginawa ko. Para sa inyo at inyong mga anak sa ating bayan,” the former Chief Executive expressed.

Currently, the former President is busy endorsing his senatorial bets in the 2025 Midterm Elections. Duterte is also one of the legal counsels of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in her impeachment battle.
