Are you one of the members of the Government Service Insurance System? More popularly called GSIS, it is best to know that the social insurance giant has grown the list of its loan offers for its members.

Millions of Filipinos are members of the Government Service Insurance System. Employees in the government are mandated to maintain an active membership to the social insurance giant. Aside from the benefits for the GSIS members, it has several loan offers which include the GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan Flex or the MPL Flex.

The GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan Flex is a cash loan offer that is designed not just to consolidate the existing loans of the member but to provide additional funds as well. It is ready to consolidate the existing loans of the member-borrower of the following kinds into a single loan offer:
- Salary Loan (SL)
- Restructured Salary Loan (RSL)
- Enhanced Salary Loan (ESL)
- Emergency Loan Assistance (ELA)
- Summer One-Month Salary Loan (SOS)
- Conso-Loan Plus / Enhanced Conso-Loan Plus
- Member’s Cash Advance / eCard Cash Advance / eCard Plus Cash Advance
- Home Emergency Loan Program (HELP)
- Educational Assistance Loan I and II (EAL I / II)
- Fly PAL, Pay Later (FPPL)
- Study Now, Pay Later (SNPL)
- Stock Purchase Loan (SPL)

With regards to requirements for the GSIS MPL Flex application, it includes both the list of qualifications and the list of documents that must be submitted to apply for the loan offer. To be eligible to apply for the loan offer, the member-borrower must:
- not be on leave of absence without pay at the time of application
- have posted at least one (1) month premium contributions for both Personal Share and Government Share at the time of application
- have no pending administrative case and/or criminal case; Provided however, that if the pending administrative case or charge is for a light offense, the borrower shall remain eligible
- have no GFAL account in default
- agency status is not “Suspended”
- resulting net take-home pay after loan availment is not lower than the amount required under the General Appropriations Act, after all required monthly obligations have been deducted
