Kim Atienza in an Accident: “Thank You, Lord, for My 4th Life!”
KIM ATIENZA – TV host and cyclist Kim Atienza was rescued after being involved in a bike accident while on his way home from work.
TV host and sports enthusiast Kim Atienza recently shared a miraculous story of survival after getting into a cycling accident on his way home from work. The incident, which could have led to severe injuries or worse, left Atienza feeling grateful for his safety and the people who helped him.
In a social media post, Atienza recounted the shocking accident, revealing that a large dog suddenly ran into his path while he was riding his bike. Unable to avoid the dog, he lost control and was thrown eight feet over his handlebars before crashing onto the pavement.
“Riding home from work, a huge dog darted straight to my path, making me crash. I flew eight feet over my handlebars, hitting the pavement with a thud. I heard a loud crack and knew something was broken,” Atienza shared.
Still in shock and lying on the road, he experienced what he described as an unexpected miracle. Within seconds, a fully staffed ambulance arrived at the scene to provide first aid and ensure his safety from passing vehicles.
“As I lay on the street stunned, miracle of miracles, in seconds, a fully staffed ambulance arrived, giving me first aid and stopping the cars from running me over,” he recalled.
The rescuers, who were members of FEPAG EMS PHILS and off duty at the time, immediately brought Atienza to Makati Medical Center, where he was attended to in the emergency room. After ensuring that he was in stable condition, the emergency responders quietly left, showing their dedication even outside working hours.
Atienza also expressed his deep gratitude to his family, especially his wife and child, who rushed to the hospital to take care of him.
“Feli and Emman were in the ER to take care of their broken papa. That was so comforting seeing them!” he said.
Despite the pain, Atienza was relieved that he did not suffer more serious injuries aside from a broken rib.
“God loves me so much. I could’ve broken my spine or banged my head, leaving me with graver injuries (or death), but all I have is a broken rib,” he said.
He also thanked the barangay officials who safeguarded his bicycle and his doctor friend, Marc Castro, who assisted in his recovery.
Through it all, Atienza remains steadfast in his faith and gratitude to God.
“Maraming maraming salamat Panginoon. You are good, unchanging, and ever-present in everything I do. I have nothing in my heart but gratitude. Life is good. God is good all the time,” he concluded.
