Duterte’s common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña, and their daughter, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, are also in The Hague now and have visited the former President. According to Senator Imee Marcos, she also wants to visit Duterte and give him his P10,000-check as he is qualified under the Expanded Centenarian Act.

Marcos also expressed her hope that former Pres. Duterte will be brought home to the country soon. It is no secret to the public that the Presidential Sister is one of those who were shocked and expressed disappointment over the arrest of the former President.

Bato dela Rosa

Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos committed “betrayal to the max” when Duterte was surrendered by the government to the ICC. On the 80th birthday of the former President, the Senator gave him a message of hope and encouragement not to surrender amid his situation now. He cited that nothing is permanent in this world and the recent happenings are just challenges that can be fathomed.

“So magpakatatag lang tayo, laban lang, at huwag mag-surrender…Huwag siyang sumuko sa laban. Laban lang, because majority of the Filipino people, even those who are outside of the Philippines, other parts of the universe ay nandoon at nakikiramay sa kanya at gustong-gustong maibalik siya dito sa Pilipinas,” Sen. dela Rosa said based on a Facebook post.

Aside from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and the senators, Malacañang also had a birthday message for former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. The Palace previously defended Pres. Bongbong Marcos from “betrayal” accusations saying that the government only did its job.
