Update on Condition of Pope Francis at the Hospital
POPE FRANCIS – Vatican released an update about the Roman Pontiff who is now on his 13th day of confinement in the hospital.
There is currently an outpour of prayers worldwide for the Pope as he fights for his life in Gemelli hospital in Rome, Italy. He is confined since February 14 after suffering chest pains and breathing difficulties.

Pope Francis’ bronchitis developed double pneumonia. When he was young, a part of his lungs was removed and it is affecting his recovery now from his current health condition. Pope Francis believes that his death is drawing near.

The Roman Pontiff told two (2) people close to him that he might not make it this time. Wake and funeral preparations in case of the demise of the Pope was started.

Meanwhile, on the 7th day of his confinement in the hospital, the clinical condition of the Pope showed slight improvements. His fever was gone and his hemodynamic parameters was stable. However, then, the doctors stressed that he is still not out of danger.
On Saturday, the Sovereign Pontiff had a respiratory attack which left him in a critical condition. Roman Catholic church leaders called on prayers for the Pope. The attack required the transfusion of two (2) units of blood. A slight kidney problem was also detected.
The Pope is confined in a special papal suite in Gemelli hospital. On Monday morning, the update from Vatican said that slight improvements on the clinical condition of the the Roman Pontiff were seen but his doctors refuse to give a prognosis due to the complexity of his condition.
Recently, Vatican released another update about Pope Francis. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Roman Pontiff remains in a critical condition but he is stable and is working from his hospital bed.
“There have been no acute respiratory episodes and hemodynamic parameters continue to be stable,” Vatican said.
Based on the report, Pope Francis underwent a scheduled follow-up CT scan on the eve of Tuesday for radiological monitoring of bilateral pneumonia. With regards to the prognosis, it remains “reserved”.
