Here’s Update on Health Condition of Pope Francis amid Hospital Confinement
POPE FRANCIS – The Holy See Press Office told the media that the health condition of the Roman Pontiff showed slight improvement.
Countless leaders and members of the Catholic Church are on a prayer brigade for the recovery of the Pope. The Roman Pontiff is admitted in a hospital in Gemelli in Rome, Italy since February 14, 2025 after he experienced some chest discomfort.

The doctors found that Pope Francis has pneumonia. When he was young, a part of his lungs has been removed which contributes to the challenge now with regards to his health condition at the hospital. In the past, he’s been through several hospital confinements but he always made it out of the hospital and get back to work.

However, this time, Pope Francis believes that he might not make it this time. It is what the Roman Pontiff told two (2) people who are close to him. Due to his belief that he may not live longer, preparations for his wake and burial have been started.

Swiss newspaper Blick reported that the Swiss Guard which is in-charge of the security of the Roman Pontiff is now under a curfew for the possible passing of the Pope amid his medical situation. Vatican is reportedly preparing as well for a funeral rehearsal in case death happens to the Sovereign Pontiff.
Previously, Pope Francis revealed that the place where he will be laid to rest when he dies is ready. Despite the readiness of the Roman Pontiff on this matter, the Catholic churches and leaders continue to pray for the recovery of the Pope. The same goes with countless members of the Catholic church.
Recently, the Holy See Press Office gave an update on the condition of Pope Francis who remains confined in a hospital in Gemelli in Rome, Italy. Based on a report on Pep, the clinical condition of the Pope is “showing slight improvement”.
“He has no fever, and his hemodynamic parameters remain stable,” the Holy See Press Office said.
Based on the report, Holy See Press Office director Matteo Bruni said that Pope Francis has a “focal pneumonia” which means that there is only a portion of his lungs affected by it. He has received the Eucharist this morning and dedicated himself to work activities.
