MANNY PACQUIAO – Boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao fires staff members involved in a recent traffic violation incident.
Manny Pacquiao has taken swift action following a traffic violation incident involving members of his staff. In a recent ambush interview with the media, Pacquiao confirmed that he had fired the personnel involved in the controversy, demonstrating his commitment to upholding the law.
The incident in question occurred when members of the Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) flagged down vehicles allegedly part of Pacquiao’s convoy for illegally using the EDSA Busway. A viral video of the event showed occupants of the vehicles mentioning Pacquiao’s name while refusing to immediately comply with traffic authorities’ requests for identification and registration.

Reports indicate that the staff member in question was driving a black Toyota van, leading two other vehicles with unauthorized blinkers and sirens. Authorities stopped the convoy on Sunday, prompting a confrontation that gained widespread attention on social media.
During the media interview, Pacquiao did not hide his disappointment and revealed that he had personally taken action against the involved personnel.
“Inalis ko yung tao ko at pinagalitan ko at saka sinabi ko mali-mali yung ginawa ninyo, bakit nyo tinakasan yung law enforcer?” Pacquiao stated firmly.
He further emphasized that he instructed the driver to return to the scene and accept responsibility for the violation.
“At pinabalik ko dun, ‘kunin nyo yung ticket, pa-ticket kayo dahil mali yung ginawa nyo’,” he recounted.
The DOTr-SAICT later confirmed that the driver did return, apologized, and received citations for disregarding traffic signs and illegally using blinkers. Pacquiao’s decisive response highlights his strong stance against any misconduct, even among his own staff.
