Court Allows Release of Rufa Mae Quinto after Posting Bail

RUFA MAE QUINTO – The Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 111 allowed the release of the actress after she posted P1.7 million bail.

On Thursday, Rufa Mae surrendered to the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) amid an arrest warrant due to her involvement to Dermacare, a skincare company that is faced with registration issues. Another celebrity, Neri Naig-Miranda, was arrested by the authorities over her involvement with the same company prior to the release of the arrest warrant against Rufa Mae.

The lawyer of Rufa Mae Quinto previously confirmed the issuance of a warrant of arrest against her client. She stressed that her client will face the charges filed against her and plans to surrender to the authorities. She also stressed that Rufa Mae is just a brand ambassador or an endorser of the product.

Rufa Mae arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 aboard a Philippine Airlines flight with her family. She directly surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation. Her lawyer has coordinated with the NBI at NAIA over the surrender of the actress.

Before proceeding to a court in Pasay, Rufa Mae went through a medico legal examination. Her camp planned to post bail after her surrender to the authorities but the processing was not finished within the day. Thus, Rufa Mae spent the night at the NBI.

The camp of Rufa Mae Quinto posted P1.7 million bail for her temporary release. Based on a report on GMA News Balitambayan, the Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 111 has allowed the release of the actress-entrepreneur after posting bail.

“Go, go, go home na ako,” the actress said.

Rufa Mae posted P1.7 million for 14 counts of alleged violation of the Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code, or P126,000 per count. Based on the report, the actress-entrepreneur also made a “not guilty” plea on the accusations against her.

Previously, she claimed that she is also a victim in the situation. Rufa Mae Quinto even said that she has yet to meet the owners of Dermacare.
