Dennis Trillo Shares 50th MMFF Triumph: Best Actor Winnings Donated to PDLs

DENNIS TRILLO – Actor Dennis Trillo shares his 50th MMFF triumph by donating his Best Actor winnings to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

Kapuso star Dennis Trillo has once again demonstrated his compassion and generosity by donating his cash prize from being named Best Actor at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). Inspired by the PDLs who served as the foundation for the prison drama Green Bones, Dennis shared his desire to help make their simple wishes come true.

Dennis received a silver statuette designed by Filipino-American artist Jefre Manuel Figueras and a cash prize of ₱100,000 during the Gabi ng Parangal on Friday. His award was one of many for Green Bones, which also clinched the coveted Best Picture honor.

In the film, produced by GMA Pictures in collaboration with Brightburn Entertainment, Dennis plays a PDL nearing release, while Ruru Madrid portrays a relentless prison guard determined to keep him locked up.

“Isa sa pinaka-mensahe ng pelikula ay patungkol sa kabutihan ng tao,” Dennis said about his decision to donate the prize. “Kung tayo ay may kakayahang makatulong, piliin natin na tumulong kaya naman wala ng pagdadalawang isip pa.”

He revealed that he and his wife, Jennylyn Mercado, decided to use the winnings to fulfill the wishes of PDLs through their Tree of Hope project. “Ito’y paraan namin ng pagbabalik sa kanila dahil sa kanilang kuwento nabuo ang Green Bones,” he added.
