GSIS MPL LITE REQUIREMENTS 2025 – Here are the documents required by the Government Service Insurance System in applying for the loan offer.
In the Philippines, individuals who are employed in the government are mandated to be members of the Government Service Insurance System or more popularly called GSIS. It is a giant social insurance institution in the country with millions of member populace.
A GSIS membership widens the options and financial resources of a member. Through the membership, a person may have something to turn to in times of job loss, disability, and many other situations that may require more financial resources. It also offers a Retirement Benefit which is a benefit that most members look forward to among the many GSIS benefits.
Aside from the benefit offers, the Government Service Insurance System also offers loans. Through the years, it continuously grow its loan offers and it recently made a new addition — the GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan Lite or the GSIS MPL Lite.
There is a more attainable set of GSIS MPL Lite requirements in terms of qualifications under the loan offer. You may borrow up to Php 50,000 and it is payable for up to 24 months. With regards to the interest rate under the loan offer, it is either 6% to 7% depending on the contributions a member-borrower has posted and the amount borrowed.
In applying for the loan offer, the GSIS MPL Lite requirements include both qualifications and documentary requirements. For the qualifications, here is the criteria you should meet to be eligible to apply for the loan offer:
- active member under permanent and non-permanent status, including Special Members tagged as such in their respective Member’s Service Profiles (MSPs) whose agency has a MOA with GSIS may avail of MPL Lite,
- has at least one (1) month premium contributions for both Personal Share and Government Share at the time of application
- not on leave of absence without pay at the time of application
- has no pending administrative case and/or criminal case; Provided however, that if the pending administrative case or charge is for a light offense, the borrower shall remain eligible
- has no GFAL account in default except housing loan
- the resulting net take-home pay after loan availment is not lower than the amount required under the General Appropriations Act, after all required monthly obligations have been deducted
- the agency status is not “Suspended”
The GSIS also offers a GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan Flex which bear a different set of features compared with the MPL Lite.
