The official list of the holidays in a year is approved by the sitting president. During regular holidays and special non-working days, the employees who report to work are entitled to an extra pay on top of their salary for the day. The Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE has set holiday pay rules in the Philippines which employers and offices must adhere to.

During regular holidays, classes in schools and work in both private and public offices are cancelled. The employees who report to duty receive an extra pay while those who don’t are not subject to salary deductions for an absence.

The above-mentioned lists of Philippine holidays 2024 are not fixed. There might be instances when proclamations of additional holidays will be released by the Palace. In the lists above, the popular Muslim celebrations in line with the Ramadan which are usually regular holidays are yet to be included as they have no fixed dates for it.
