Ken Chan Speaks Out: Defends Himself Against Syndicated Estafa Charges & Vows to Clear His Name
KEN CHAN – Kapuso actor Ken Chan finally breaks his silence, addressing the syndicated estafa charges against him and revealing his side of the story.
Ken Chan, Filipino actor and entrepreneur, recently addressed a syndicated estafa complaint filed against him by a former business co-investor. On November 14, Ken took to Instagram to share his side of the story, releasing a statement alongside photos of his former restaurant, Café Claus, which had three branches before it closed down.
In his statement, Ken began by breaking his silence on the issue, explaining that Café Claus, which he co-founded, unfortunately did not succeed. He clarified, “Hindi po ako nanloko ng tao, naitayo po ang negosyo ngunit hindi ito nagtagumpay.” He also addressed the amount claimed in the lawsuit, saying it was exaggerated and only reflected the complainant’s side of the story.
Ken Chan went on to question why the case had been labeled as syndicated estafa, a serious charge typically reserved for criminally fraudulent schemes. He expressed his intent to share a full account of the circumstances behind Café Claus’s closure in due time, as he believes there were external influences contributing to the business’s downfall. “May mga bagay kami na kailangang ipaglaban lalo na kung bakit naisampa ito bilang syndicated estafa,” he stated, pointing out the relentless efforts of individuals allegedly trying to damage his reputation.
He emphasized that he did not take advantage of anyone financially, and that Café Claus’s failure was due in part to conflicts with business partners. Ken remained steadfast in his commitment to handle the case legally, thanking his supporters who have stood by him throughout this challenging time. He also apologized to brands associated with him, acknowledging the impact of the situation on his professional relationships.
Ending on a hopeful note, Ken expressed his faith that he would overcome the ordeal. “Lumalaban po ako at hindi tumatakbo palayo sa isinampang kaso sa akin,” he wrote, appealing for continued prayers from his supporters. Despite the accusations, Ken remains optimistic about his future, vowing to clear his name and make things right.
