JENNYLYN MERCADO – Actress-singer Jennylyn Mercado makes a comeback to GMA’s Christmas Station ID, putting transfer rumors to rest with her festive return.
Actress Jennylyn Mercado marked her return to GMA Network’s highly anticipated 2024 Christmas Station ID after being absent last year, putting an end to speculations about a possible network transfer.
Fans were thrilled to see Jennylyn alongside her husband, Dennis Trillo, as they participated in the festive cheer of the station ID. Social media buzzed with excitement, with one user on X (formerly Twitter) exclaiming, “Nasa Christmas Station ID ng GMA si Jennylyn Mercado!!! SA WAKAS!!!”
The actress’ inclusion in this year’s station ID comes after months of uncertainty surrounding her status with the network. Last July, Jennylyn revealed that she currently identifies as a freelancer, as she has yet to sign a new contract with GMA. Despite her freelance status, Jennylyn reassured fans of her loyalty to the network.
“Sa GMA naman po siyempre, palagi naman akong Kapuso. Ang daming nag-aantay ng sagot kung lilipat ba,” she said during an interview.
She further emphasized her gratitude and continued affiliation with GMA, noting her two-decade-long journey as one of its most celebrated stars. “Ako naman, 20 years na po akong Kapuso and I am very thankful na hanggang ngayon po ay ako po ay Kapuso pa rin, mayroon pa rin mga nini-nego (negotiate), pero mabilis na lang po iyan, so we’re just waiting for the contract pero happy pa rin naman ako maging Kapuso, basta gusto pa rin nila ako ‘di ba?” she added.
