ER EJERCITO’S WIFE – Maita Sanchez, a former actress and Pagsanjan, Laguna mayor, passed away at the age of 55 as announced by the former Laguna Mayor.

Currently, the family of Ejercito and the residents of Pagsanjan in Laguna is grieving the death of former mayor Maita Sanchez, the wife of former actor and Laguna governor ER Ejercito. She died at the age of 55 years old at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Both ER and Maita are former actors and politicians. ER is a former mayor of Pagsanjan Laguna from 2001 to 2010 who became governor of the province. He sat in the gubernatorial post from 2010 to 2014. His wife, Maita Sanchez, has served as mayor of Pagsanjan from 2010 to 2019.

On social media, the death of ER Ejercito’s wife was announced by the former Laguna Governor and he also recalled the significant contributions of his wife in public service and showbiz. He stated that his late wife was an “outstanding multi-awarded local chief executive” of Pagsanjan, Laguna for three (3) consecutive terms.

ER stressed that Maita “brought life, joy, and integrity” to the projects and programs of Pagsanjan during her mayoralty terms. She has also served as the vice mayor of the municipality for one term from 2019 to 2022. She has great contributions to the municipality which is now popular as the tourist capital of Laguna. Based on the post, she was also the LMP president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016.

Maita Sanchez was also an actress. In his post, ER Ejercito proudly described his late wife as the favorite actress or leading lady of the late action star Fernando Poe Jr. According to the former Laguna Governor, FPJ was also their ninong.

ER Ejercito’s wife has starred in the films Kahit Konting Pagtingin Part 2 (1995), Hagedorn (1996), Pagbabalik ng Probinsyano (1998), Ang Dalubhasa (2000), Batas ng Lansangan (2002), and Shake, Rattle, and Roll EXTREME (2023).

Based on the social media post of ER Ejercito, Maita Sanchez died of endometrial cancer. The wake of ER Ejercito’s wife is held at their family home at the Don Porong Ejercito 1912 Ancestral Mansion in Pagsanjan, Laguna. A daily mass scheduled at 7PM will be held from November 3 to November 9.
