2025 Senatorial Race Includes Willie Revillame Who Filed his CoC on Last Day of Filing
WILLIE REVILLAME – The “Wil To Win” TV host filed his Certificate of Candidacy for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
The 2025 Midterm Elections is just a few months away and the filing of candidacy period has recently closed. However, on the last day of the filing of candidacies, there are political aspirants who surprised the people when they formalized their bid for the next election.
One of those who filed his Certificate of Candidacy on the last day of CoC filing is Willie Revillame. He is one of the veterans in game show hosting in the Philippine entertainment industry. He is also an actor, a singer, a comedian, a songwriter, and a businessman.
Undeniably, Willie is one of the wealthiest celebrities in the Philippine showbiz industry. He was even recently reported to have bought at least two (2) new residential properties in different areas — with one of them costing P1 billion as per reports.
Currently, Willie Revillame is the host of the TV show Wil To Win but certain events in the show earned negative reactions from the people for how the TV host allegedly acted. Some netizens did not like how Kuya Wil would reprimand the staff while the show is on air.
Prior to filing his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Elections, Kuya Wil told Pep that he has “mixed emotions” over his senatorial bid. Based on the article, he admitted that even his children and relatives did not know his plan.
“Hindi ito alam ng mga anak ko. Hindi ito alam ng mga kamag-anak ko. Ginagawa ko ito hindi para sa sarili ko,” he said.
Based on the article, Willie Revillame stressed that he is running for senator for his fellow Filipinos who lost hope thinking that politicians are just all promises. According to him, he will push for his promises as he does not need anything in life anymore.
“Gagawin ko ito para sa mga kababayan natin na, akala nila, wala nang pag-asa. Akala nila puro pangako lang. Tutuparin natin lahat. Ako, wala na akong kailangan sa buhay,” he said.
During the conversation with Pep, Willie Revillame admitted that he lost sleep as he really weighed on his decision. He also has a promise to the people.
“Wala sa isip ko, wala sa bokabularyo, ang gumawa ng isang bagay na ikagagalit ng lahat, at hindi ko kayang mang-isa ng kapwa,” he said.
Based on Comelec rules, Willie can continue being on Wil To Win until February. Previously, Willie apologized to the public over his behavior in the show when he scolded staff.
