SSS Says Members May Tap Salary Loan in Recovering from Typhoon Kristine’s Wrath

SSS – The Social Security System announced that the members affected by Typhoon Kristine may tap the Salary Loan offer.

Several areas in the Philippines were left by Tropical Storm Kristine in deep flooding. Countless Filipinos had to leave their houses for safety and the typhoon has damaged residential houses as well as livelihoods. Naga in Bicol is one of the cities greatly affected by the storm.

Former Vice President Leni Robredo even appealed for pump boats to help rescue the Naga residents who were stuck in their roof for several hours as they evade the floodwater. In low-lying areas, the floodwater has reached roof level. Thousands of people had to leave their houses.

SSS Calamity Loan

The flooding caused by Tropical Storm Kristine has damaged countless houses and livelihoods. Several families are in need of some monetary solutions to recover from the impacts of Tropical Storm Kristine.

Amid the impact of Typhoon Kristine, the Social Security System announced that the members may tap the SSS Salary Loan. It is open for members who meet the following qualifications:

  • at least 36 monthly contributions but not more than 72 monthly contributions
  • under 65 years old at the time of the loan application
  • must have not been granted any final benefit

According to the Social Security System, if the member has posted at least 36 monthly contributions but not more than 72 monthly contributions, he/she may avail a one-month salary loan. If the member has posted at least 72 monthly contributions, he/she may get a two-month salary loan.

In applying for the Salary Loan offer to SSS, for personal applications, the following are the documentary requirements that must be submitted to the Social Security System:

  • duly-accomplished SSS Salary Loan Application Form
  • SSS digitized ID or E-6 with any two (2) valid IDs (one of which with a recent photo)
    • Senior Citizens Card
    • Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID
    • Seaman’s Book
    • LTO Driver’s License
    • School ID
    • Company ID
    • Voter’s Identification card/affidavit/Certificate of Registration
    • Postal ID
    • GSIS Card
    • Tax Identification Number (TIN) Card
    • Baptismal Certificate
    • Overseas Worker Welfare Administration card
    • ATM card with cardholder’s name or with certification from bank
    • Health or Medical Card
    • Credit Card
    • Police Clearance
    • Transcript of Records
    • NBI Clearance
    • Pag-IBIG Member’s Data Form
    • Marriage Contract
    • Seafarer’s Registration Certificate issued by POEA
    • Bank Account Passbook
    • Certificate from:
      • Office of Muslim Affairs
      • Life Insurance Policy
      • Office of Southern/Northern Cultural Communities
      • Birth/Baptismal certificate of child/ren
      • Certificate of Licensure/Qualification Documents/Seafarer’s ID and Record Book from Maritime Industry
      • Certificate of Naturalization from the Bureau of Immigration

If the loan application will be filed by an authorized representative of the SSS member, here are the documents that must be submitted to the Social Security System:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • SSS-issued Authorized Company Representative (ACR) card
  • Letter of Authority (LOA) from employer
  • two (2) valid IDs both with signature and at least one with photo
  • Member-borrower’s SS card or Application for SS card (SS Form E-6) acknowledgment stub and two (2) valid IDs
