Self-Proclaimed Kris Aquino Husband Senatorial Aspirant Wants To Marry Sen. Imee Marcos
Senatorial aspirant Daniel Magtira who claimed that he is the husband of Kris Aquino said that he will marry Senator Imee Marcos.
One of the individuals who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for senator in the May 2025 Midterm Election is Daniel Magtira. While he is not a politician and is not coming from popular political clans in the Philippines, many people knew him — as the self-proclaimed husband of Kris Aquino.
The senatorial aspirant filing his COC for senator is not the first time to happen. Magtira has filed his candidacy for senator and president in the previous election seasons. He hooked attention when he claimed that he is allegedly the husband of Kris Aquino. However, recently, he made another claim.
Kris Aquino has just returned to the Philippines from abroad. She was in the United States for around two (2) years for her treatment against autoimmune disease. Recently, Daniel Magtira claimed that she is not usually around so he intends to marry Sen. Imee Marcos.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the senatorial aspirant unveiled his newest claim when he filed his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Midterm Election. Aside from speaking about his romantic intentions on Sen. Marcos, he also took his chance at the podium to declare his talent in singing.
“Si Kris Aquino, lagi siyang wala, na sa ano ata, sa ibang planeta… Kaya pakakasalan ko na lang, si Imee Marcos,” the senatorial aspirant said.
Daniel Magtira is pushing for a platform of “salary increase” and signing his own recording contract. Ever since, Kris Aquino has not reacted to his claim that he is allegedly her husband. Sen. Imee Marcos has also not spoken on his claim that he will marry her.
On declaring a political aspirant as a nuisance candidate, there are lesser grounds now following the decision of the Supreme Court. Based on the report, Commission on Election (Comelec) spokesman Attorney John Rex Laudiangco said that the Court has ruled out the lack of popularity or political party and the lack of funds as grounds in declaring someone as a nuisance candidate.
Meanwhile, according to the Comelec Spokesman, there are still two (2) grounds in declaring a nuisance candidate:
- the actuations of the political aspirant when he/she filed his/her candidacy
- his/her understanding of the position and if his/her plans is part of the position that the aspirant is running for
