MARJORIE BARRETTO – Celebrity mom Marjorie Barretto shared her message on returning to politics on social media.
Born on May 19, 1974, Marjorie Barretto is a Filipina politician and actress. She is from the well-known Barretto family, who are widely recognized for their contributions to the Philippine entertainment industry. Actresses Gretchen Barretto and Claudine Barretto are her sisters.
In the 1990s, Marjorie made her debut in the entertainment business and rose to fame in both television and movies. She frequently played supporting roles in a range of drama television shows and motion pictures. Her skill and her family’s success in show business helped her become more well-known.
Marjorie turned her interest to politics in the latter part of the 2000s. She started getting active in local politics, first as a councilor and then as a Caloocan municipal councilor. Additionally, from 2007 to 2013, she represented Caloocan’s 2nd district. She went back to her private life after her political career, although she continued to be seen by the public, in part because of the Barretto family’s media presence.
Marjorie just filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the next elections, announcing her intention to return to public service. She shared her opinions on the subject in an emotional statement on her Instagram account, @marjbarretto.
A short reel highlighting the public’s support and the encouragement she’s gotten from friends, family, and supporters was included with her message. Reentering politics wasn’t an easy option, Marjorie acknowledged. Given the duties and expectations associated with the position, she characterized the experience as both difficult and terrifying.
But in spite of the difficulties, her choice has also given her a fresh sense of direction. Her passion for giving back to her community has been revived by her return to public service, which demonstrates her commitment to having a positive influence.
“After a lot of thought, prayers and clear signs, i filed my COC for City Councilor yesterday under #TeamAksyonAtMalasakit
“These past few months has been quite a journey… the thought of going back to public service after more than 10 years has been challenging, terrifying and exciting. Grateful to Mayor Along Malapitan and Congressman Oca Malapitan for their trust and confidence in me. I have gained a renewed sense of purpose”
