Netizen Pens Heartfelt Open Letter for Doc Willie Ong amid Cancer Fight
DOC WILLIE ONG – A netizen urged the cardiologist in a lengthy open letter to prioritize himself first over the country — “Sarili Muna, Bago Bayan”.
Countless Filipinos were shocked when Doc Willie announced that he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. His type of disease is one of the rarest type of cancer and it is hard to treat. His doctors said that his lump is inoperable as there are too many blood vessels attached to it.
Doc Willie is currently in Singapore for his treatment against cancer. He is going through chemotherapy and he expressed his desire that he wants the same quality of healthcare for the Filipino people. He always stressed that he wants what’s best for the Filipinos.
However, Doc Willie also admitted that his stress which might be a factor in his cancer was due to the negative feelings and thoughts he got during the 2022 Election campaign. He admitted that he felt bad when he was bashed.
Doc Willie Ong ran for vice president during the 2022 Elections. He was the running-mate of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno but they both placed 4th in the results of their respective electoral races. Recently, following his announcement about his cancer diagnosis, a netizen wrote an open letter for the cardiologist.
The netizen urged Doc Willie to prioritize himself first before the country. He stressed that the Philippines and the Filipino people does not deserve him.
According to Facebook user Ako si Tserman, when Doc Willie Ong announced his vice presidential bid, he allegedly knew that the cardiologist will not win the race. He claimed that it is not because he is not capable for the position but allegedly because of the political system in the Philippines.
The netizen claimed in his viral post that dirty players are allegedly the ones who win the elections in the Philippines. He stressed that Doc Willie can only offer the Filipinos love and the people allegedly does not want it.
“Ang nananalo yung mga dirty player, nagpapa mudmod ng pera, mga action star o sikat na personalidad na ni walang background,” the netizen wrote in his open letter.
The netizen told Doc Willie Ong that he always gives advice to other people and he would be the one to give an advice to the cardiologist now. In his open letter, he told Doc Willie to prioritize himself this time over the country.
“Tama na po. Sabi nila “Bayan Muna, Bago Sarili” pero baka dapat po “Sarili Muna, Bago Bayan,” the netizen wrote in his open letter.
However, contrary to what the netizen wants, Doc Willie recently surprised the Filipinos with a senatorial candidacy. Prior to it, he stressed that everything he does now is for the Filipino people.
