Pres. Bongbong Marcos Airs Request for Admin’s Bets for Senators
MARCOS – The President announced the senatorial slate of the administration in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
The 2025 Midterm Elections which is set on May 12, 2025 is fast approaching. Those who aspire to run for a position in the local and national level must file their candidacies this October. Some political parties have already announced the electoral races that some of their members will be taking.
Recently, the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas announced tthe senatorial bets that compose its senate slate in the 2025 Midterm Elections. The announcement was made by no other than President Bongbong Marcos.
Five (5) political parties in the Philippines have united. They are the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) which is the political party of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the Lakas-CMD, the National Unity Party, the Nationalist People’s Coalition, and the Nacionalista Party.
The announcement of the admin’s senatorial slate took place during the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas Convention held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. Based on the report, the Chief Executive will endorse the following senatorial candidates:
- Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos (PFP)
- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay (NPC)
- Senator Pia Cayetano (Nacionalista Party)
- Senator Lito Lapid (NPC)
- Senator Francis Tolentino (PFP)
- Senator Imee Marcos (Nacionalista Party)
- Senator Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr. (Lakas-CMD)
- former Senator Manny Pacquiao (PFP)
- former Senator Panfilo Lacson (NPC)
- former Senator Vicente Sotto III, (NPC)
- Deputy Speaker Camille Villar (Nacionalista Party)
- former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo (Lakas-CMD)
Only presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos was not present at the convention. In his speech, Pres. Bongbong Marcos bared his only request for the senatorial candidates who he will endorse — to keep their honesty and love for the Philippines.
“Ang tanging hiling ko ay mapanatili ang kanilang katapatan at pagmamahal sa bansa. Ito ang pinakamahalagang katangian ng kandidato na aking tinitignan at pinag-iisipan,” he said.
Marcos, addressing his message to the Filipino people, said that the candidates under the admin’s senatorial slate for the 2025 Midterm Elections are known for their capability and public service. Based on the report, as for Abalos who is currently the secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), he will resign possibly after the filing of the candidacy.
The Liberal Party has also unveiled the candidacies that some of its members are planning to make. According to LP, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo will run for mayor in Naga City.
