After his Cancer Revelation, Doc Willie Ong Exposes Experience with Sepsis
Doc Willie Ong revealed that he was in a ceritical condition for four (4) days due to “Neutropenic sepsis” just a couple of days after he admitted that he has a cancer.
One of the most popular doctors in the Philippines is Willie Tan Ong, a cardiologist. He is also a vice presidential candidate in 2022 and the running-mate of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Furthermore, he is a content creator with millions of followers on social media.
Doc Willie was posting health videos for several years already. Millions of Filipinos watch those videos which usually include tips to stay healthy and prevent health conditions. Thus, it came as a surprise to the public when the cardiologist announced that he is suffering from one of the hardest cancer to treat.
Doc Willie Ong revealed he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. According to him, his doctors found a 16 x 13 x 12 centimeter sarcoma in his abdomen, hidden behind his heart and in front of his T10 spine. The doctors claimed that it is the biggest they have seen.
To treat his cancer, Doc Willie also revealed that he is going through chemotherapy now. He is taken cared of by his wife, Dra. Anna Liza Ramoso-Ong, and their two (2) children. However, just a couple of days after he revealed his cancer diagnosis, the celebrity cardiologist unveiled through another vlog that he went critical for four (4) days.
According to Doc Willie Ong, he had “Neutropenic sepsis”. He was admitted to the hospital again last September 7, 2024 and he was in a critical condition until September 11, 2024. His White Blood Cell (WBC) count was down to 0.36. The normal value is between 5 to 10. His blood pressure level also fell to 85/60 with an increased heart rate of 128.
Doc Willie also had high fever, chills, dizziness, dry mouth, and chills. In his post, the doctor tagged going through “neutropenic sepsis” as “another brush with death”. In his vlog, the cardiologist was honest about his feelings and what he thinks caused his health ordeal now.
“I think I got all these pain from negative thoughts, negative emotion, from all the hurt, all the bashing I got from the 2022 vice presidential campaign,” Doc Willie said.
Doc Willie Ong stressed that he just ran for vice president and he did not do anything wrong. He also expressed that if the people will pray for him, he thinks that he will get well but if they will keep on bashing him, he thinks he will die.
“Hindi niyo naiintindihan gaano ko kayo ka mahal. Bawat takbo ko para po sa inyo hindi para sa akin. Ang ginawa niyo binash niyo ako nang binash, sumama sobra ang loob ko,” the cardiologist said.
Based on the vlog, the sarcoma of Doc Willie is blocking the esophagus thus, it is hard for him to swallow as it is situated in a very tricky and devious manner. He revealed that the doctors cannot perform an operation as there are too many blood vessels attached to it.
Meanwhile, the celebrity cardiologist is visibly determined to fight against his cancer. Currently, he is admitted to the hospital because of low WBC count which is a side effect of his chemotherapy.
