Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero Congratulates PH, Indonesian Authorities for Alice Guo’s Arrest
CHIZ ESCUDERO – The Senate President released a statement on the arrest of former Mayor Alice Guo in Indonesia.
The Philippine government intensified its efforts in fighting the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country. One of the accused is former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo who is also facing questions about her identity.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) previously confirmed that the fingerprints of Guo matched with the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national who entered the Philippines in 2003. The fingerprints of her brother, Wesley Guo, also matched with the fingerprints of a Chinese citizen.
Alice Guo was able to leave the Philippines amid the complaints filed against her and a pending arrest order. Her name was on the immigration lookout bulletin. According to the Bureau of Immigration, there are no records that she passed by the immigration in her departure.
Two (2) alleged companions of Alice Guo were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines. Her supposed sister who denied that they are biological sisters, Shiela Guo, claimed in a Senate hearing that she, Alice, and Wesley left the country through “a small boat”.
Cassandra Ong was also sent back to the Philippines. The alleged representative of the POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga denied that she is friends or business partners with Alice Guo. According to her, she only knows Alice because she is the sister of her boyfriend, Wesley.
Recently, Alice Guo was arrested in Indonesia. She was arrested by the Indonesian authorities in Jakarta, Indonesia. The arrest of Guo was confirmed by the DOJ and the NBI. Justice Secretary Boying Remulla expressed his satisfaction on the results of the efforts of the authorities.
Senate President Chiz Escudero has also released a statement on the arrest of former Mayor Alice Guo. The Senate President expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the law enforcement authorities of the Philippines and Indonesia. Previously, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero slammed the PNP for failing to arrest Guo. He even tagged the police’s failure as “kahiya-hiya [embarrassing]”.
