Sen. Bato dela Rosa Reacts To Intel Report that Ex-PNP Chief Involved in Alice Guo’s Escape from PH
BATO DELA ROSA – The Senator cleared his name on the intel report that a former PNP chief helped Alice Guo escape from the Philippines.
Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is now in the hands of the Philippine authorities. Guo was arrested by the Indonesian authorities in Jakarta, Indonesia, specifically in a rented apartment. Reportedly it was in July when the former Mayor left the Philippines amid her name being on the immigration lookout bulletin.
Several complaints were filed against Guo and she is accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in Bamban, Tarlac. However, according to the Bureau of Immigration, there are no records of the former Mayor passing the immigration when she left.
Both Alice Guo and Shiela Guo claimed that they escaped from the Philippines through “a small boat”. The former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor reportedly went to Malaysia then to Singapore and to Indonesia where she was arrested.
The Philippine authorities are not only into investigating the real involvement of the former Mayor in the illegal POGO operations in her town but as well as in determining who could have helped her escape from the country. There is an intel report that a former PNP chief has aided Guo in her departure.
Senator Bato dela Rosa, the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief under the administration of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, moved to clear his name from the possible speculations. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he questioned Alice Guo to clear his name.
“I am concerned, because I am a former chief PNP! Baka mamaya may lalabas na script diyan na, ‘Si Bato ay tumatanggap ng pera,” Dela Rosa admitted.
Based on the report, Bato dela Rosa asked Alice Guo if they have crossed paths before the Senate investigation, had ever met in person, or have taken a selfie. The former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor answered in the negative to the questions of the lawmaker.
The Senator also asked Pagcor’s Security Monitoring Cluster head Raul Villanueva about the identity of the former PNP chief who allegedly helped Guo escape. Based on the report, Villanueva expressed that he does not have any confirmation but he is sure that it is not Dela Rosa.
“Thank you … I’m not the one. Iyon lang, siniguro ko lang. Thank you, General Villanueva,” the lawmaker said.
At the hearing, Sual, Pampanga Mayor Dong Calugay was also asked about his relationship with Alice Guo. He was questioned after the authorities found out that a member of his staff has helped Guo in the notarization of her counter-affidavit even if she was not in the Philippines anymore.
