Former Mayor Alice Guo Happy To See PH Authorities
ALICE GUO – The former Mayor who was arrested in Indonesia revealed why she is smiling in photos despite her arrest.
The Indonesian authorities have turned over the custody of former Mayor Guo to the Philippine authorities. Guo was arrested in an apartment in Indonesia. She was still in her pajamas when the Indonesian authorities came to her rented apartment for her arrest.
Guo reportedly left the Philippines in July and went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The authorities believe that the former Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac went to Singapore and then to Indonesia where she was arrested. The Philippine authorities has alerted the other countries regarding the case of Guo.
The former Bamban, Tarlac mayor is faced with accusations of her alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town. Tax evasion charges were also filed against her by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Guo ditched two (2) Senate hearings and it was followed by the upper chamber citing her for contempt and eventually issuing an arrest order. However, the authorities failed to locate her in all her registered addresses until reports that Guo has left the country crossed the surface.
Prior to the arrest of Alice Guo in Indonesia, her supposed sister, Shiela Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines. Shiela claimed that Alice is not her sister and she also denied being involved in illegal POGO operations.
Cassandra Li Ong is also accused of an illegal POGO involvement. She is under the custody of the House of Representatives while Shiela was sent to the Senate. However, Cassandra Ong was hospitalized after she felt dizzy during a House hearing.
Recently, the Indonesian authorities arrested former Mayor Guo and she is now back in the Philippines. However, amid her arrest, countless people noticed that the former Mayor is smiling in several photos. Many people even pointed out that she really looks like she came from vacation.
Former Mayor Alice Guo recently revealed why she’s smiling in the photos. During the press conference with the PH authorities, Guo confirmed the statement of the DILG that there are death threats against her. According to the former Mayor, it is the reason why she left the Philippines.
Guo said that he asked the help of the Philippine authorities. According to her, she is happy to see them and she feels safe that is why she is smiling in photos.
“Masaya din po ako na nakita ko po sila, I feel safe po,” the former Mayor said.
