Photo Shown by Atty. Topacio Elicits Different Reactions
TOPACIO – The lawyer showed a photo of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos with people accused of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) links.
During his recent State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Bongbong Marcos announced a ban on POGOs in the country. The announcement came after the authorities have raided several POGO hubs in the country that are illegally operating.
Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is one of the personalities linked to the illegal POGO operation in her town. Cassandra Li Ong is accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operation in Porac, Pampanga.
However, amid the multiple complaints filed against the former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor and her name being on the immigration watchlist, former Mayor Alice Guo was still able to leave the Philippines. She reportedly flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and moved to Singapore then to Indonesia.
Currently, the authorities are still investigation how Guo was able to escape from the country. The Bureau of Immigration said that Guo is still in Indonesia.
Guo’s sister, Sheila Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong were sent back to the Philippines after they were detained by the Indonesian authorities. However, former Mayor Alice Guo remains at large. The authorities are backtracking to determine who have helped her escape from arrest.
Allegedly, former Mayor Guo left the Philippines via 2 speed boats hours prior the operations of the authorities. The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) believes that someone accepted money in exchange of the escape of Guo.
Recently, amid the investigations on the departure of former Mayor Alice Guo, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio showed a photo showing Pres. Bongbong Marcos and his wife, Attorney Liza Araneta-Marcos, with the alleged POGO personalities.
As of this writing, the office of the President nor First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has reacted to the photo shown by Atty. Ferdinand Topacio. Based on a post of Inquirer, the said photo was presented by the lawyer during the Pandesal forum in Quezon City.
