Lawmakers Question Shiela Guo during Senate Hearing
SHIELA GUO – The supposed sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo claimed they’re not sisters and she’s in the Philippines to work.
Alice Guo’s departure from the Philippines is one of the recent events that left countless Filipinos disappointed. Undeniably, it also affected the image of the competency of the police security in the Philippines. The authorities were unable to locate the dismissed Mayor even after more than a month since a Senate arrest order was released.
Guo is accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in Tarlac. Her identity is also being questioned and the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) found that Guo’s fingerprints matched with the fingerprints of Chinese national Guo Hua Ping.
Alice Guo was formerly known to have two (2) siblings — Wesley and Shiela Guo. However, recently, Shiela claimed that she and Alice are actually not biological sisters. She also admitted that she was born in China and her mother is still there.
Shiela Guo and Cassandra Li Ong were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines. Ong is facing allegations of involvement in the illegal POGO operation in Porac, Pampanga. The authorities believe that Alice is still in Indonesia.
Ong is detained in the House of Representatives while Guo is detained in the Senate. During the hearing set by the upper chamber, Guo affirmed that Alice is still in Indonesia but claimed she does not know where she really is in the country.
According to Shiela Guo, Jian Zhong Guo who is Alice Guo’s father is only her foster father in the Philippines. She claimed that she arrived in the country when she was 16 or 17 to work in an embroidery business under the order of her “father”.
“Hindi ako dito pinanganak. Sa China ako pinanganak,” Shiela revealed during a Senate hearing.
Shiela also claimed that she was told that Alice is her sister and she lives according to that. According to the National Bureau of Investigatio (NBI), while Alice is Guo Hua Ping, Shiela is Chinese national Zhang Mier as per her Chinese passport.
There are already recommendations now on filing charges versus Shiela and Cassandra. President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos earned accusations after their photo with Cassandra Li Ong crossed the surface.
