GMA-7 Contractors Deny Claim of Niño Muhlach that they Apologized, Lawyer Says “Complete Lie”

Camp of GMA-7 Contractors Accused in Sandro Muhlach Issue Submits Counter-Affidavit

GMA-7 CONTRACTORS – Jojo Nones and Dode Cruz denied the claim of Sandro Muhlach’s father that they apologized to him at a meeting.

The issue involving the eldest son of Niño Muhlach, Sandro Muhlach, and the two “independent contractors” of the Kapuso network elicited different reactions from the people. Prior to the younger Muhlach filing a complaint, there were rumors that a young actor was taken advantage of by two executives of the network in a hotel.

Sandro Muhlach filed a complaint at the GMA-7 as well as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) stating his claims against the two (2) GMA-7 contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard “Dode” Cruz. The said persons whom the Kapuso network tagged as “independent contractors” were suspended by the network.

Previously, it was explained that while they are “independent contractors”, they are still under the Code of Conduct upheld by the network. The Senate invited both parties into a hearing led by Senator Robin Padilla.

At the Senate hearing, Niño Muhlach broke down in tears as he claimed that his son was shaking when he was telling him what was allegedly done to him by the two (2) GMA-7 contractors. Both Jojo Nones and Dode Cruz did not attend the Senate hearing.

The Senate moved to issue a subpoena against Nones and Cruz for skipping the inquiry. An executive of the Kapuso network attended the hearing. Sandro was also absent at the hearing. According to his camp, he is not in the right mental state for the said inquiry.

At the Senate hearing, Niño Muhlach claimed that he was able to meet the GMA-7 contractors accused by his son in a meeting with a Kapuso executive. According to him, Jojo Nones and Dode Cruz apologized to him and he accepts their apology but they have to pay for what they did.

Recently, based on an article on Pep, the two (2) GMA-7 contractors denied apologizing to Niño Muhlach. Their legal counsel, Attorney Maggie Abraham-Garduque, confirmed that they filed a counter-affidavit on the complaint filed by Sandro Muhlach.

Atty. Garduque said that she asked her clients about the claim of Niño Muhlach that they apologized to him and Nones and Cruz denied it. They cannot discuss in details the contents of the counter-affidavit that they filed but revealed that the GMA-7 contractors deny all the allegations of Sandro Muhlach.

“As regards the apology, I confer with my clients and no such apology as to admission of liability that happened in the meeting. This is a complete lie,” the lawyer said.

Today, the Senate hearing on the issue will resume. The inquiry is led by Sen. Robin Padilla who heads the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media.
