CARLOS YULO’S FATHER – Mark Andrew Yulo shared a video on social media with a touching message asking, “How’s your relationship with your mother?”.
For the first time, the Philippines won a double gold in the Olympics which is the biggest sports event in the world. Filipino gymnastics legend Carlos Yulo won Olympic gold medals in men’s floor exercise and vault event. He double win was during the 2024 Olympics held in Paris, France.
Carlos Yulo’s double gold win in the Paris Olympics brought a lot of pride to the Philippines. The Philippine government and several entities were excited to reward him for the honor that he has brought the country.
More than P100 million was extended to Carlos Yulo as cash rewards and gifts for his Olympic double gold win. Toyota gave him his brand new Land Cruiser Prado while Chery Auto gave him Tiggo 7 Pro SUV. Megaworld also have a luxurious gift for the Philippines’ Golden Boy — a P32 million worth three-bedroom condo unit from Megaworld for Carlos.
However, amid the success of Carlos in the Olympics, it was unveiled to the public that he and his mother, Angelica Yulo, have a rift. The Pinoy Pride is the second child of his parents among four (4) siblings. He has an older sister, Joriel, and younger brother and sister Karl Eldrew and Yza, respectively.
Eldrew and Yza are also gymnasts. The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) is even hoping for two (2) Yulos, Eldrew and Carlos, in the 2028 Olympics.
On his rift with his mother, money issues were cited. Carlos Yulo also claimed that his mother is against her girlfriend, Chloe San Jose. According to him, his mother judged his girlfriend right away. Meanwhile, he stressed that he has long forgiven his mother.
Angelica Yulo apologized to her son saying that she is just a hurting mom. She also expressed her willingness to talk to him in closed doors to solve their family issues within them. However, it is still unclear if Caloy and his mother and family have already talked.
