Olympic Double Gold Medalist Carlos Yulo Gives Message for Mom Angelica
CARLOS YULO – The 2024 Paris Olympics double gold medalist said that he has already forgiven his mother and he prays for her safety.
The Philippines bagged a back-to-back gold medal win in the 2024 Paris Olympics with the victory of Yulo. He was the first Filipino in the Summer Games whose winning has led to the momentuous playing of the Philippine National Anthem at the arena.
Countless Filipinos felt goosebumps upon watching Caloy winning the gold medal in men’s floor exercise in the 2024 Olympics. His victory brought pride and honor to the Philippines and he is the first male athlete to have won an Olympic award.
President Bongbong Marcos congratulated Carlos Yulo and expressed his confidence that it is not his last gold medal. It did not take long before the words of the Chief Executive came into reality. On Sunday, Caloy won his second Olympic gold medal in men’s vault events.
The victory of Caloy in men’s vault events marked him as the first Filipino to be a double gold medalist in the Olympics. However, amid the huge pride and honor that the Filipino gymnast has brought the Philippines and the Filipino people, some of his personal issues were dragged into the center.
The relationship of Carlos Yulo and his mother, Angelica Yulo, hooked the spotlight. She spoke on an interview and made negative claims against her son’s girlfriend, Chloe San Jose. Angelica Yulo refused to initiate reconciliation with her son as she did not want to be accused of being only after her son’s money.
Multi-million rewards await Caloy in his return to the Philippines. At least P33 million cash rewards await Carlos Yulo aside from the residential properties and the privilege passes offered by the different entities.
The Filipino gymnast stepped in to defend his girlfriend and reveal his side. He stressed that Chloe has her own money and does not depend on him financially. He also expressed that it did not matter to him how much of his monetary incentives he did not get but his point is that his money was used without his consent.
In his message, Carlos Yulo expressed that he has forgiven his mother, Angelica Yulo. He also expressed his desire for his mother to heal and move on from the issues as he wishes her safety always.
“Ang message ko po sa inyo, Ma, na mag-heal kayo, mag-move on, at napatawad ko na kayo a long time ago po. Pinagpe-pray ko na maging safe kayo palagi at nasa maayos kayong kalagayan lahat diyan,” Caloy said.
