Olympic Double Gold Medalist Carlos Yulo Now Back in PH
CARLOS YULO – The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) revealed that the Paris Olympics double gold medalist is looking forward to a vacation after his public engagements.
The Philippines has yet to make a record of having two (2) gold wins in the Olympics not until Caloy did so in the recent Olympics held in Paris, France. He won gold for the country in men’s floor exercise and vault events. His success brought so much pride and honor to the country.
Yulo has been training in gymnastics since he was only 12 years old. The now 24-years old man has been through rigid training and his hardwork and dedication have greatly helped in his recent achievement. It was not an overnight effort thus, not only the Philippine government but as well as several private entities want to reward him for his hardwork.
The office of President Bongbong Marcos gave Yulo a Php 20 million cash reward. The House of Representatives also gave him Php 14 million cash reward. These amounts are apart from the Php 3 million cash reward given by Megaworld.
Aside from the cash reward, Megaworld also gifted Carlos Yulo with a 3-bedroom condo unit in McKinley Hills in Taguig. He also got a house and lot property in Tagaytay and another residential property from another real estate firm.
Toyota also gifted Carlos with a Land Cruiser Prado of his own. Vikings Restaurant and many other entities also showed their appreciation to the efforts of the Paris Olympics double gold medalist.
A Heroes’ Welcome was prepared for the Filipino athletes who represented the Philippines in the 2024 Olympics. Manila also prepared a Grand Heroes’ Parade for the athletes and Carlos Yulo’s father was among those who joined the crowd.
Prior to the parade, Caloy received the key of his new fully-furnished condo unit given by Megaworld. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines or GAP confirmed that the Olympic double gold medalist is really asking for time for vacation after his public engagements.
According to GAP president Cynthia Carrion, Yulo really wants to rest. However, prior to his much-awaited and well-deserved vacation, the legendary gymnast will have to fly to Paris again in September for his “deliverables” for Toyota.
Based on the report, Carrion expressed that after his September “deliverables”, Carlos Yulo can have his relaxation time. The GAP President wants him to travel the Philippines as he has not been to Boracay Island and the Palawan.
“He’s never seen the beauty of the Philippines. So, this time, I want him to have time off to see Boracay and go places,” Carrion expressed.
