Former Mayor Alice Guo’s Lawyer Speaks on Ex-Mayor
ALICE GUO’S LAWYER – Attorney Stephen David claimed that he has not communicated with the former Mayor for several days already.
Countless Filipinos were left frustrated over the failure of the authorities to locate former Mayor Alice Guo amid a pending arrest order issued by the Senate. However, it left Pinoys more disappointed after it was confirmed that Guo has left the Philippines in July.
Senator Risa Hontiveros presented a document claiming the departure of former Mayor Alice Guo from the Philippines during a Senate session. According to the lawmaker, Guo left the country last July 17 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur the following day.
Guo also reportedly moved to Singapore to meet her family. According to the Bureau of Immigration, Guo is currently in Indonesia. Guo’s sister Shiela Guo and Cassandra Li Ong were detained by the Indonesian authorities and sent back to the Philippines.
However, with regards to former Mayor Guo, she is still on the loose. Reportedly, Guo left the Philippines via two (2) speed boats. The Bureau of Immigration claimed that she was able to leave the country without passing by the immigration.
Previously, amid the confirmation of the foreign counterparts of BI in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia that Guo came to their entry-exit points, former Mayor Alice Guo’s lawyer said that he was able to talk to his client and she claimed that she is still in the Philippines.
Attorney Stephen David also expressed his hope that Guo will surrender to the authorities soon saying that they have a negotiation. The camp of Guo also expressed their confidence that they will be able to defend her in court.
However, just around a couple of days since he made the statement, former Mayor Alice Guo’s lawyer claimed that he has no communication with his client for several days now. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he also did not comment on the claim of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) that Guo is trying to get to the “Golden Triangle”,
“I have not communicated with Mayor Alice Guo for several days already,” David said.
Currently, the authorities are doing a backtracking to identify the individuals who have helped Guo in her escape so charges can be filed against them. The sister of former Mayor Alice Guo and Cassandra Li Ong are now in the custody of the Philippine authorities.
Sheila Guo felt unwell upon their arrival at NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport). Medical examinations were scheduled for Guo and Ong.
