SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President said that she will not attend the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos.

Currently, countless Filipinos are eager to hear the second State of the Nation Address of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It is more popularly called SONA and this political event usually gathers most politicians in the country. They usually grace the SONA of the chief executive with their partners.

The second State of the Nation Address of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is set on July 24, 2024 which is a Monday. It will be held at the Batasang Pambansa Complex and it is expected to gather more people compared with the attendees of the first SONA.

However, there is a possibility that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will not be one of the attendees of the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Pres. Bongbong Marcos which will be held at Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City. She recently revealed in an interview that she will not be attending the event.

Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President further said that is designating herself as the “designated survivor” — a term used in U.S. to refer to someone who is expected to take on the presidential post next but is excluded from the leaders’ gathering.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte did not disclose the reason why she will not attend the second SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Undeniably, this is another surprising statement from the Vice President after a series of unexpected announcements she recently made.

VP Sara Duterte recently resigned from the being the secretary of DepEd or the Department of Education. She also resigned as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

After resigning from her position in DepEd, Vice Pres. Duterte also announced that Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte will run for the presidency in 2028. VP Inday Sara also revealed that 3 Dutertes are taking a senatorial bid in the Mid-Term Election next year.
