Mayor Alice Guo Expresses Gratitude to Constituents on Birthday
MAYOR ALICE GUO – The suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor took to social media a statement on her birthday thanking her constituents.
One of the popular names in the Philippine political industry now is suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Guo. She is facing issues about her identity as well as allegations about her alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO) in her town.
Mayor Guo was called in the Senate. The latest hearing was scheduled July 10 but prior to it, Mayor Guo’s lawyer announced that she will skip the Senate hearing as she was “traumatized”. The legal counsel of the suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor also expressed that she is drained physically and emotionally from the many allegations against her.
Mayor Alice Guo skipped the Senate hearing last July 10. The Senate committee cited Guo in contempt after her claims was not supported by a Medical Certificate. According to Senator Risa Hontiveros who earlier reminded the Mayor and her legal counsel of their obligation to respect the Philippine laws, a letter will be written to the Senate President. Once approved, an arrest order will be issued.
The Court of Appeals released a Freeze Order on the assets of Mayor Alice Guo and several other individuals and companies linked to the illegal POGOs. A money laundering case was also filed against the suspended Mayor after millions were traced to have been deposited in her multiple bank accounts.
Recently, suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo celebrated her birthday. On social media, she posted a statement expressed her gratitude to her constituents as well as her take and side on what is happening. According to the Mayor, she did not regret entering politics but she was greatly hurt that she almost lost herself.
In her birthday post, Guo wrote special messages for her beloved city, Bamban; her LGU family; her members in the Sangguniang Bayan or SB; and all the categories of constituents from the youth to the senior citizens as well as the farmers, the LGBTQIA members, the jeepney drivers, and the tricycle drivers.
In her post, Mayor Alice Guo stated that “everything is temporary”. She stressed that she is a Filipino with a big heart for Bamban and she loves the Philippines so much. Here’s her full post:
