Actress Kim Chiu Speaks on Dealing with Heartbreaks
KIM CHIU ON HEARTBREAKS – Living a celebrity life, the Kapamilya actress spoke on how she handles heartbreaks in love.
Among the countless actors and actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry, Kim is undeniably one of the most popular. She started her career in the first teen edition of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother, more popularly called PBB. She finished the reality competition as the Big Winner.
In 2007, Kim top-billed the TV series Sana Maulit Muli with her loveteam partner, Gerald Anderson. The on-screen pairing of Kim and Gerald led to a real-life relationship. Their fans and supporters collectively call them “KimErald”.
In 2010, Kim and Gerald broke up. The actress visibly focused on her showbiz career which really flourished through the years. In 2018, after several months of speculations about the real score between them, Xian and Kim confirmed their relationship.
Collectively called “KimXi”, Xian Lim and Kim Chiu also worked on several projects together including the television series The Story of Us and My Binondo Girl. Their relationship lasted for 12 years. Last December 2024, the actress announced their breakup.
Both Xian and Kim remained mum on the real reason behind their separation. The actor-director earned countless criticisms and accusations following their breakup. He was accused of having a third party and being user.
Xian previously clarified that it was Kim who initiated their breakup. After a series of statements given by the actor over their breakup, the actress expressed her hope that her ex-boyfriend will give the issue a rest. For his side, he stressed that not only him but as well as his family is receiving threats.
Recently, Kim Chiu, in an interview with Melai Cantiveros for the pilot episode of the Kuan On One, the actress revealed that she does not bring with her her personal problems in front of the people. She explained that she is not the type of person who will explain herself and she would just say what happened.
“Ang daming tao sa buong Pilipinas, na nanunuod ng TV sa’yo, kahit saan ka nila pinapanood, hindi ko ma-explain ang sarili ko. So sarilinin ko na lang ‘yung pinagdadaanan ko na hirap, ako na lang,” the actress said.
During the interview, Kim Chiu acknowledged that it is also okay to show some vulnerability sometimes and what is important is that you have someone to talk to. She also stressed the value of acceptance and her belief on God’s will.
“I-feel mo lang tapos hindi mo-ideny, hindi mo i-kuan tanggapin mo na ganun talaga ang nangyari hindi mo kasalanan, hindi rin kasalanan nung lalaki or ng kahit sino, walang may kasalanan. Nangyari lang talaga siya.“
Kim Chiu stressed that God has already written what will happen and you just have to be thankful for the happiness and pain and all without having hard feelings towards anyone.
